DBS

This is my experience sharing.

Kindly refer to the official guidelines.

If you have doubts, please always keep in touch with your HR.

How to apply?

Your HR will send you the link into your trac account.

Tips: Just follow the steps as instructed. It is quite self-explanatory. Be patient to wait for your HR to inform you about the next step. Try to avoid chasing after them, too aggressively. Chase them timely.

Cost?

Usually, you need no pay for it.

Annual upgrade 13 pounds/year

Costs 44pounds ( usually your employer will pay for you, in some circumstances, they will charge in your salary on your next or future payslip).

Tips: You need to have a UK address and a valid document for proof of address (bill, tenancy contract, bank statement). My friend use the hospital address as the UK address. Do ask your HR about it.

Step 1: Your HR could send you a link in your Trac account for DBS disclosure application.

Step 2: Read carefully and agree with the term and conditions.

Step 3: Fill in your personal detail and the address that you have been staying for the past 5 years.

I got the approval within 3-5 working days. My HR informed me about the status by email. Apart from that, my Trac account shows DBS status.

DBS update service

Tips: You will be given only 30 days for upgrade service once you obtain your DBS. If you are doing locum or doing rotation, which requires you to change place to place. I will strongly advise getting the updated service to avoid this hustle again.
