Remarks
1. night shifts - defined as a shift which begins no earlier than 20:00 and no later than 23:59 and is at least 8 hours in duration - receive an enhancement of 37% on basic pay for the whole shift, up until 10:00 the next day.

Similarly, any individual hours worked between 21:00 and 07:00 get the 37% enhancement - but just the hours worked in that time window, not the whole shift.

2. If you notice an employer trying to start night shifts slightly earlier, for example at 19:30, in order to avoid paying the enhanced rate for the whole shift, you do not have to agree to it. The contract explicitly refers to the need to ensure shifts with hours worked during the night period are rostered in the correct way.

3. Your employer is contractually required to share with you your template rota eight weeks and the duty roster to six weeks before your post start. This means that you are able to request leave when you receive a copy of your rota template, so that this can be built into the final roster.

4.  No doctor should work more than 72 hours in any 168 hour period (the number of hours in 7 days). As such the 168 hour period will be assessed from the start time of a shift entered on a day rather than from 00:00. 


            When?  your actual work differs from the work schedule, either in terms of your working hours or the training you are meant to be doing.

My NHS Interview Experience

I got two interviews.  I accepted one of the offers and I stop applying for jobs.  Congratulations to receive the job interview. An overview of NHS interview.   Usually, it starts with  introducing yourself (tell about your cv),  then clinical and ethics questions,  last Questions, and Answers.   Usually, each interview took 15-20mins time only .  You should be precise.  > Some interviews could email you beforehand and request you to prepare with a presentation/ teaching. Things that you should do as soon as possible after arrived in UK for your first job

This is my personal experience.  I feel lost at the beginning of this tunnel.  These articles aim to help IMG to figure out what to do, as an outline of reference.  The detail of trust or local induction will not be discussed here. Very important 1. Occupational health clearance -date will be given, take blood for hep, MMR, TB (IGRA) - varies with trust/ local policy - Most trusts allow the new starter to work only after the occupational clearance. Some trust does allow you to start the observation/ shadowing without it.  - The test takes one day (just go to take your blood), the appointment may take one week to book, the result could be out in 1 to 2week's time depending on trust.  Tips : Try to book as soon as possible.
