Resign Letter Template (Malay) and My Advice

This post aims to share my personal experience. 


When I plan to hand in my resignation letter to KKM, I talked to a few of my friends and asked them for their opinion and sample letters. 


My advice

Before resigning, there are a few steps that you should be aware of. 

1.  Talk to yourself, your parents, friend, and family: understand your situation and consequences/ impact of your resignation - to make sure you are doing the right decision and this the what you want. This can take sometimes and it varies with personal circumstances. What are your long-term and short-term goal?

2.  Talk to the HR (your PT) or you can check your HRMIS : how much annual leave you left (you can give either a notice period of 30days or immediate resign with a one-month salary * please refer back the contract that you had signed)

3. Talk to your boss (head of the department) and your senior MO that in charge of your department ( Talk to them nicely, they will understand your circumstances and everyone is replaceable). Be nice to each other, and maybe your boss will give you a good idea or plan that you might as well as not need to resign. You will need their references in the future. Discuss with them the timing to leave the department. 

4. Hand-over your task - if you have any duty and responsibility in the department

5. Collect all the evidence and records (for your own personal filing) - including logbook (a few of NHS job profiles will ask you to submit one), good to have a copy of your service book (buku perkhidmatan), proof of resignation letter had received and approved to Hospital Director / pengarah (reply letter from the hospital, you will need it when you apply for Good Standard of Practice with Malaysia Medical Council), your certificate and evidence of CME ( as a doctor, it is important to have evidence of continuous learning, you can write it in your CV), letter of evidence of employment ( you can always ask this later on, by submitting a letter to the hospital).

2. Perletakan jawatan tersebut adalah atas sebab peribadi (option of reason, you can refer as the picture listed as below)

Possible reasons that one can resign from KKM:



When you submit a resignation letter, your HR could give a Notis Perletakan Jawatan Lampiran A to fill up. You need to declare whether are you on any bonding with the government, picture as shown as below.

Things that you should do as soon as possible after arrived in UK for your first job

This is my personal experience.  I feel lost at the beginning of this tunnel.  These articles aim to help IMG to figure out what to do, as an outline of reference.  The detail of trust or local induction will not be discussed here. Very important 1. Occupational health clearance -date will be given, take blood for hep, MMR, TB (IGRA) - varies with trust/ local policy - Most trusts allow the new starter to work only after the occupational clearance.
